The Beauty of Small Weddings with Mr & Mrs Glover

So...everything’s a bit fucking wild just now isn’t?

Everyone has to pull together for the greater good, I think any argument against that is clearly immoral...but at the same time it seems obvious that life can’t stand still. If you and your partner were poised to step into your life together in 2020...I can only imagine how overwhelming it is trying to figure what you want to do, and what is the right thing to do.

Everyone’s got to do that for themselves. Postponement is one option, cancelling is another or...you could go big on going small…

Terrible seagueways aside, a small wedding can be a beautiful thing. Obviously there’s a lot to think about when changing your wedding plans but one thing won’t change: you get to celebrate your love.

Ultimately, that is what your wedding day is all about: celebrating your love. You won’t get to do it with as many people just now...but that doesn’t diminish the celebration or the love your friends and family will feel for you even the tiniest bit.

Besides, its an extra excuse for a big party at other end isn’t it?

Bad jokes aside, a tiny wedding ceremony can be a powerful thing. The images in this piece come from the wedding of two of my dear friends: Mr & Mrs Glover. They had a tiny, intimate ceremony on the exact anniversary of their first date.

It was sincerely one of the most wonderful things I’ve ever been involved in. There were a handful of attendees, including myself, and every part of the day was beautiful. From the comfort of getting ready at home, to the light-hearted joy of our ‘’formal’’ bride & groom portraits on the waterfront to the celebrating with family and friends in the garden.

It was a beautiful day, and I like to think these photos capture that. Just goes to show, weddings are about quality, not quantity.

Cliches aside (anyone else notice I leave a lot to the side?), everyone should have the wedding the dream of. All I’m saying is, you don’t have to abandon that dream because the numbers are limited...you can just reimagine it a bit.

If you’re thinking about getting married this year, or next year, or anytime and want to chat about going small (or gong big) feel free to drop me a line anytime.
